Still Choosing Between Elephants and Donkeys

Politics in America has hardly changed since it was formed. The United States of America remains a democratic federative republic (may be the number of states varies). The President has the majority of powers but his powers are strictly regulated by different federal structures such as the Senate and Congress. There are two main political parties representing the right wing and the left wing orientation. The main legislative body is the bicameral Parliament while the President is the main executive body.

The political competition in the USA is established between two main parties: Republicans (elephants) and Democrats (donkeys). When the Americans vote for their new President they choose between representatives of these two parties. The Republican Party is right-wing and it determines its policy supporting Americans and “fighting” immigrants. Its new politics, for instance, is aimed to make Iran quite the nuclear program by all means. Democrats is the left-wing party supporting democratic values and tending to provide high social standards to all the people who live in the USA despite their origin. But it often means sacrificing the pursuits of Americans.
