We support democracy because it literally means the power of people. An ideal variant of this political regime is about humanistic ideals. The role of democracy in our society can’t be overstated. It gives us all freedoms and rights we have. These are freedom of choice, speech, religion, and, as a core of democracy, the right to elect the authorities we think are the best one. Democratic values are the basis of international politics. And it is a real problem, especially for a so-called “young democracy”.
The effectiveness of implementing democratic values is determined by responsibilities of politicians involved in this process. The degree of responsibility of a politician from the Third world countries is pretty low. Governments and politics always go together. If it is a responsible government, the policy is aimed to improve the life of those who has elected these politicians. Irresponsible governments tend to be re-elected by all political and non-political means. Usually it is determined by implementing different political techniques, peanut politics and local measures which improve the situation just for a short period of time.
